Dig even slightly into any of the most vital of London’s underground fashion and music scenes and you’ll almost certainly find Gentle Mutilation. Masterminded by multidisciplinary artist and creative polymath Luk Gentle, the project incorporates graphic and fashion design, photography, live performance, music and parties, refracting each of these aspects through a lens forged from a philosophy of balance and motion. “We celebrate movement in the living and the dead,” reads the Gentle Mutilation mission statement, “the rhythms of the natural, the cycles of darkness and light.”
From being instrumental in running a certain legendary, off grid event space and “underground superclub” in Elephant and Castle…

Gentle Mutilation is an underground luxury lifestyle label based in London.
The name originally came from the idea that subtly destructive processes create unique characteristics both in art and in life. Their designs are defined by distressing patinas, harsh edges, and the transformative powers of the matrix.
LOVE IS A POPUP AND PARTY CREATED BY LUK AND YUHO CAMO TO CELEBRATE THE TIES BETWEEN UK AND JAPAN FASHION AND MUSIC, INVITING LONDON BASED MUSICIANS AND DESIGNERS TO COME TOGETHER AND SHARE MUTUAL CULTURAL APPRECIATION.
FOR OUR MOST RECENT EVENT LOVE AIR* WE THEMED THE POPUP AROUND THE AIRPORT, DRAWING A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE DIFFICULTIES OF CROSSING BORDERS WITH THE HURDLES INVOLVED IN NAVIGATING BOUNDARIES THAT SURROUND OUR ACCESS TO THE FEELING OF LOVE.
LUK LEAD THE TEAM, WITH A CREATIVE VISION, PRODUCING IMAGE AND GRAPHICS, SPATIAL AND EXPERIENCE DESIGN ACROSS DIGITAL, PRINT AND PHYSICAL EVENT - TO A MEMORABLE AND SUCESSFUL OUTCOME. FINDING AND APPROACHING SPONSORS FROM UK AND JAPAN , WRITING COPY AND CURATING THE EVENT ITSELF.
